Chapel Hill - UNC senior Shannon Smith has been named the ACC Co-Player of the Week in volleyball along with Georgia Tech's Teryl Townsend for the week of Oct. 24th - Oct. 31. At the same time, Tar Heel setter Eve Rackham has been named ACC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

Smith led Carolina to a victory over N.C. State, recording 20 kills and 16 digs and hitting .385 in the four-game match. In the same four games, Rackham tallied 68 assists and 17 digs with three service aces and a .400 hitting percentage. Rackham also received the honor for the weeks of Sept. 26th - Oct. 3rd and Oct. 3rd - Oct. 10.
