  • CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina volleyball team is 11-12 overall and 7-5 in league play entering the month of November. The Tar Heels fell to Georgia Tech Friday night 3-1 and lost a heartbreaking match 3-2 Saturday to Clemson. Carolina now faces an uphill battle in the league standings and to pursue postseason play. Tuesday's match will be broadcasted via THB.com live for free - Walter Storholt and Garrett Gore will be on the call.

    The Tar Heels will seek to get back in the win column hosting three matches this week, including senior day November 8th against Virginia Tech. Carolina will face rival N.C. State for the first time this season, Virginia Friday and close out their home slate with the Hokies Sunday. North Carolina will then close out the regular season with their final five matches on the road.

    Quick Hits - Senior Branagan Fuller sports 88 kills in her last seven matches, good for 3.30 kills per set. Fuller has led the Tar Heels in kills for four straight matches.
    • Senior Heather Brooks needs only two block assists to rank second in school history in that category. The East Lansing, Mich. native has registered 75 block assists this season and 369 in her four year career.

    • The Tar Heels lead the ACC in digs per set at 16.49 in 12 league matches. Libero Kaylie Gibson ranks second in the league in digs per set with 4.97 through 12 league matches.

    • Carolina currently ranks 21st in the country in average home attendance. Carolina averages 1, 793 fans per match, thanks to a 12,724 Carolina faithful turnout against then ACC leader Duke.

    •Carolina is 70-27 all-time against N.C. State. The Tar Heels last lost to the Wolfpack in 1997, winning the last 25 meetings against N.C. State.

     

     

    SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK - N.C. State is dead last in the ACC at 0-12 in league play and 7-20 overall. The Wolfpack have lost 14 straight matches entering their 98th all-time meeting against the Tar Heels. The Pack has won only two sets in league play in 12 matches, losing to Maryland 3-2 October 2nd.

    Charita Stubbs' club is led by Kelly Wood's 187 kills and Kelly Benac's 368 assists. The Wolfpack is 1-7 on the road this season entering their match against the Tar Heels. The two teams will meet again November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving, in Raleigh.
