Chapel Hill, N.C. - UNC junior Casey Simpson was named volleyball co-Player of the Week by the ACC with Trina Maso de Moya of Wake Forest. At the same time, Tar Heel setter Eve Rackham was named the ACC's Rookie of the Week.

Simpson led Carolina to conference wins over Georgia Tech and No. 13 Clemson. During the matches, she averaged 5.13 kills and 3.75 digs per game and had a .250 hitting percentage. In the Tar Heels' victory over Clemson, Simpson tallied 23 kills (5.75 per game), 17 digs (4.25 per game) and had a .358 hitting percentage.

Rackham, who earned Rookie of the Week honors for the second-consecutive week, averaged 15.63 assists and 3.13 digs per game and hit .346 against the Yellow Jackets and Tigers. She recorded a season-high 72 assists against Clemson, averaging 18 per game in the match.

Simpson's honor makes this the second-consecutive week a Tar Heel has received co-Player of the Week. UNC senior Tori Seibert received the award last week.
