UNC junior Casey Simpson was named to the InnTowner Invitational All-Tournament team in Madison, Wisconsin, Saturday. Simpson recorded 32 kills and 26 digs for the Heels, recording a double-double in both matches of the tournament.

Carolina split their matches during the two-day tournament, losing 3-1 (11-15, 15-7, 5-15, 2-15) to No. 6 Florida on the opening night and then defeating Dayton 3-1 (15-9, 15-3, 13-15, 15-12) in the Consolation Match. However, the Tar Heels took the only game of the tournament from Florida who defeated No. 13 Wisconsin 3-0 (15-7, 16-14, 15-9) in the Championship Match.
