Tar Heels Picked Fourth In ACC Preseason Poll

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of North Carolina volleyball team was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference as was announced by the ACC office Tuesday afternoon. The Tar Heels received 102 points trailing 2007 ACC Champion Clemson (143 points), Georgia Tech (130) and Duke (119) as voted on by the 12 ACC coaches. Senior Brianna Eskola along with junior Christine Vaughen were named to the 18-member preseason All-ACC team. The Tar Heels finished sixth in the ACC a year ago as they finished with an 11-11 conference record. North Carolina lost the services of three players in Ashley Board, Bekah Brinkley and Christie Clark to graduation but will welcome in six freshmen to go along with an experienced core of players.
