Carolina Volleyball Announces Spring Schedule
Feb. 21, 2007 CHAPEL HILL --- The University of North Carolina volleyball team will play four dates this spring, head coach Joe Sagula announced Wednesday. The Tar Heels will travel to spring tournaments hosted by local rivals Duke and Wake Forest as well as travel to Chicago and Kansas. Carolina will open its spring season at the Duke Spring Tournament on Saturday, March 24, at 9 a.m. UNC will meet UNC Wilmington at 9 a.m., Duke at 11 a.m., Charlotte at 1 p.m. and Wake Forest at 3 p.m. The following weekend the Tar Heels will travel to Winston-Salem for the Wake Forest Spring Tournament at 9 a.m. The field for that event is set to include Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, Gardner-Webb and UNC Greensboro. On April 14, Carolina will travel to Aurora, Ill., to the Sports Performance Great Lakes Center to compete in the Sports Performance Collegiate Tournament. Play begins at 8 a.m. with 24 Division I teams set to participate. UNC will conclude its preparation for the 2007 season with a trip to Lawrence, Kan., on April 21. The Tar Heels will spend the day scrimmaging the host Jayhawks as well as the Saint Louis Billikens with action set to begin at 10 a.m.
