North Carolina head volleyball coach Joe Sagula announced the addition of Eve Rackham to his staff on May 7. Rackham was a four-year starting setter for the Tar Heels from 1999-2002 where she led Carolina to three Atlantic Coast Conference titles. Rackham returns to Chapel Hill after coaching stints at Colgate, East Carolina and most recently FIU.

"I am delighted to announce the addition and return to Chapel Hill of Eve Rackham," head coach Joe Sagula said. "Eve was an outstanding competitor during her four years as a starting setter for Carolina and will bring that competitiveness to our team."

During her time Carolina won three ACC Tournament Championships and a regular season title in 2002. Carolina appeared in four NCAA Tournaments during this time, including an appearance in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2002 and the highest ranking ever (No.11) for Carolina in the AVCA Coaches' Top Twenty Poll.

Rackham comes back to Chapel Hill after spending the last five years as an assistant at Colgate, East Carolina and most recently FIU. She spent the 2004 season at Colgate before returning to the State of the North Carolina for the 2005 campaign where she started a three-year run at East Carolina. The 2008 season saw Rackham make a move to Miami where she helped lead FIU to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001.

Rackham replaces current assistant coach Erin Lindsey who is moving into a volunteer assistant position with the program while she earns her master's degree from Carolina in Sports Administration. Lindsey has been the top assistant with the Tar Heels and recruiting coordinator for the past four seasons. The Tar Heels have captured two ACC titles during that time. Lindsey will take over some administrative responsibilities and remain as the Director of Carolina Volleyball Camp operations as well.

"Eve is an outstanding young coach with a great resume of experience during the past 6 years since graduating from UNC, We are very fortunate to add another quality coach to our staff. Her experiences as the top assistant at various programs in recruiting and training teams have her well prepared. She has a great eye for talent and will take over as our recruiting coordinator. I know Eve shares the same vision along with Travis and myself to continue the great traditions at UNC and compete for ACC titles and at the national level," Sagula added.

"We support Erin and her family during this transition in her career, and are sad that she will not be with in the same capacity. She has been the top assistant in our program and has had a big impact on our team over the past 4 years. She is an outstanding young coach as our recruiting coordinator and directing our team offense along with being a great administrator for our program. However, we are also very fortunate to keep Erin working with our program as the full time volunteer and director of our camps while she earns her masters. She will mentor our players with her in-depth knowledge about coaching and Carolina, and she will continue to be a great resource for all our staff."
