Anundsen And Long Named To All-ACC Academic Team

July 3, 2007

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- NCAA doubles champions Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long of North Carolina were named to the 20-member All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, the league office announced Tuesday. The Tar Heel duo joins NCAA singles champion Audra Cohen of Miami as well as three members of Georgia Tech's NCAA title squad.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

This year's 20-member academic squad included 10 All-ACC performers, six All-Americans and eight repeat honorees from 2006, including Anundsen.

Long, a senior political science major, and Anundsen, a senior management and society major, teamed to win the first NCAA doubles title in ACC history. They finished the season ranked No. 1 in the nation in the ITA Fila rankings.
