UNC Women's Doubles Team Forges On To NCAA Second Round

STANFORD, CALIF. - The North Carolina women's tennis team's top doubles duo has advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2006 NCAA Division I Woemn's Tennis doubles championship after a win in straight sets Thursday at the Taube Tennis Stadium at Stanford University. North Carolina's Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long, seeded in the No. 5-8 portion of the bracket, won their first round match over the Long Beach State tandem of Hannah Grady and Jessica Weeks 6-4, 6-4.

Anundsen and Long now advance to the NCAA Round of 16 and Friday they will meet Tiffany Clifford and Sarah Foster of Texas A&M. Clifford and Foster won their first round matchup againsty Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic of William & Mary 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
