Tar Heels Fall At NCAA Championships

Gainesville, Fla. ----- University of North Carolina women's tennis players Kate Pinchbeck, Marlene Mejia and Aniela Mojzis all lost in the second round of the NCAA singles competition on Tuesday. Mojzis and teammate Kendall Cline also lost in the doubles tournament.

Pinchbeck, who can still earn All-America honors if ranked among the top 16 in the final ITA rankings, lost to No. 4 seed Agata Cioroch of Georgia, 6-3, 6-4. Mejia dropped a two-set match to No. 8 seed Jewel Peterson of Southern California. Mojzis was defeated by Mira Radu of Ole Miss, 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles action, Mojzis and Cline lost to Oregon's Courtney Nagle and Daria Panova, 7-5, 6-2. It was the third match in two days for Mojzis.
