SKILLMAN, N.J. --- North Carolina women's tennis players Jenna Long and Katrina Tsang were named the winners of a pair of Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional awards, the ITA announced recently. Long, the No. 10 singles player in the nation, was named the ITA Southeast Region Senior Player of the Year. Tsang, a freshman from Raleigh, N.C., was named the Southeast Region Player to Watch.

Long, a native of Fremont, Calif., has compiled a 34-9 record in 2006-07, including a 21-6 mark in dual match play. She has a 22-5 record against ranked opponents, with eight wins over top-25 foes. After leading the Tar Heels in the NCAA Team Championships, Long will enter the NCAA Individual Championships as a No. 9-16 national seed.

Tsang has had a stellar freshman season in Chapel Hill. An All-ACC selection, Tsang has a 32-9 record, including an 18-7 mark in dual match play and a sparkling 9-1 ACC record. Playing primarily at No. 2 singles, Tsang is 16-4 in that position, with an 8-5 record against ranked opponents. Tsang is also an NCAA individual qualifier along with fellow freshman Sanaz Marand.

UNC resumes team play on Friday against No. 6 Notre Dame at 3 p.m.
