Women's Tennis Waits on NCAA Bid

Bids to the NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament will be announced on Wednesday, April 30 on ESPNews at 4:30 p.m. The No. 11-ranked Tar Heels should receive a tournament bid and will likely host first- and second-round matches in Chapel Hill at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, May 10-11. One qualifying team from each of the 16 host sites will compete in Gainesville, FL for the NCAA title.

Carolina has advanced to the NCAA Tournament four consecutive seasons and last year advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by eventual champion Stanford.

Confirmation on if Carolina will host first- and second-round matches will come on Thursday, May 1. If the Tar Heels do host, here are some details on match times:

Saturday, May 10
9:00 a.m. Gates open
10:00 a.m. First Round - Match #1
2:00 p.m. First Round - Match #2

Sunday, May 11
12 Noon Gates open
1:00 p.m. Second Round

Tickets will be $5 for adults, $3 for students.
