CHAPEL HILL --- Senior Austin Smith's fourth place finish in singles highlighted play for North Carolina at the fifth annual Kitty Harrison Invitational this weekend at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Smith, who defeated Princeton's Hilary Bartlett Sunday, won three of four matches during the tournament to lead the Tar Heels. Carolina took four of six singles matches from Princeton Sunday, in addition to taking five of six doubles matches from Princeton and NC State.

UNC had its best singles results on Saturday, as the Tar Heels swept six singles matches from ACC foe Maryland. Junior Katrina Tsang led the way with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Michal Amir at the top position, with Smtih, freshman Shinann Featherston, senior Laura Reichert, sophomore Jelena Durisic and senior Hanes Harris also posting victories.

Senior Meg Fanjoy was part of three doubles victories on the weekend, pairing with Reichert in wins over Georgia Tech and NC State and with Smith in a win over Princeton.

The Georgia Tech duo of Christy Striplin and Noelle Hickey was crowned doubles champion for the tournament, while Yevgeniya Stupak of East Tennessee State was the top singles performer.
