Day One Of Kitty Harrison Invitational Complete

CHAPEL HILL --- The North Carolina women's tennis team opened the fifth annual Kitty Harrison Invitational Friday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. The Tar Heels played singles matches against opponents from Georgia Tech and Marshall on Friday, winning six of 12 total matches. Freshman Jocelyn Ffriend was a double-winner at No. 6 singles, topping Georgia Tech's Lynn Blau, 7-5, 6-4, and Marshall's Catherine Kellner, 6-2, 4-6, (10-4). Sophomore Jelena Durisic defeated Georgia Tech's Sasha Kruping at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 7-5. Senior Austin Smith, freshman Shinann Featherston and senior Laura Reichert joined Ffriend as winners in the matches against Marshall.
