Dana Sorensen, a decorated collegiate pitcher, is in her first year on the UNC staff and serves as the team's administrative assistant. Sorensen led Stanford to berths in the College World Series in 2001 and 2004. A three-time All-America selection, twice on the first team and once on the second, she graduated as as the Cardinal's career leader in strikeouts, wins, innings pitched and ERA. A native of San Diego, she is enrolled in the sport management graduate program at North Carolina, working toward a master's degree. In January, Sorensen earned a spot on the 2005 U.S. National Team and will compete as part of the squad at the Pacific Rim Sports Summit in Seattle this June. |
