Averbuch & Heath Named Soccer Buzz First-Team All-Americas

Dec. 27, 2007

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Soccer Buzz magazine named a pair of Tar Heels midfielders -- junior Yael Averbuch and sophomore Tobin Heath -- to its first-team All-America Team announced Thursday. Senior defender Jessica Maxwell was named to the third team and sophomore forward Casey Nogueira.

Fifteen schools had mutiple All-Americas named led by North Carolina with four honorees and six others that had three selections. All four College Cup participants had three All-Americas each including USC's record total of three which equaled the school's all-time total of previous award winners. Connecticut, North Carolina and Portland all had two players each named to the first team.

Midfielder Meghan Klingenberg was named to Soccer Buzz's Freshman All-America Team on the fourth team.
