Carolina Leads All-Region Team With Four First-Team Selections

GAINESVILLE, FLA. - 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference champion North Carolina led the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Southeast Region Women's Soccer First Team announced Monday with four Tar Heels making the top squad and another player being named to the second team. First-Team All-Southeast Region selections from North Carolina included a trio of seniors -- midfielders Kacey White of Arlington, Texas and Lori Chalupny of St. Louis, Mo., and forward Lindsay Tarpley of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Junior forward Heather O'Reilly of East Brunswick, N.J. was also named first team and senior defender Kendall Fletcher of Cary, N.C., was named to the second team.

UNC led the first team with four selections while Florida State had three and Clemson, Auburn, Duke and Florida had one each. UNC has five selections on the three teams overall and Florida State also had five and Duke four. On Friday, O'Reilly and Chalupny has been named to the NSCAA All-America Teams with Chalupny on the first team and O'Reilly on the second team.
