Fourth-ranked North Carolina defeated 10th-ranked Boston College Friday night 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in Cary, N.C. The Tar Heels (18-1-2) advanced to the ACC finals for the 21st successive year and have made the tournament final in every year the tournament has been held. Nikki Washington scored in the first half to give the Heels the lead against the Eagles (13-5-2). Casey Nogueira added an insurance goal late in the second half.
