2009 US Open Opening Night to celebrate athletes who give back

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Opening Night Ceremony schedule Monday, August 31 for the 2009 United States Tennis Open will celebrate athletes who give back and will feature University of North Carolina women's soccer legend Mia Hamm.

The event also highlights two-time singles champion Andre Agassi, along with David Robinson, and Doug Flutie.

The United States Tennis Association will honor them for the charitable works of their retirement years. ESPN2 will televise the celebration live, marking the cable network's first primetime telecast from the US Open.
