UNC Women's Soccer Team To Play Washington Freedom In Exhibition Match
April 9, 2004 VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. -
The defending WUSA Founders Cup champion Washington Freedom continue their exhibition tour this
weekend when Head Coach Jim Gabarra's club takes on current NCAA champion
North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, April 10 in Virginia Beach, VA.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm ET at Landstown High School. Saturday's game
will be broadcast live on the Internet at The defending WUSA champion, Washington's roster against North Carolina will feature 2003 WUSA All-Star defenders Jen Grubb and Carrie Moore. Guest players Rebekah McDowell (M, on loan from the Boston Breakers) and U.S. national team regular Thori Bryan (D, on loan from the San Jose CyberRays) also will suit up to play against Anson Dorrance's Tar Heels. In addition, college stars Jordan Walker (UNC), Stacy Finley (Navy), Tara Flint (William and Mary), Lindsey Vanderspiegel (William and Mary) and Audra Poulin (Maryland) will play for the Freedom.
