DePlatchett Named To 2001 Verizon Academic All-District III All-America Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- University of North Carolina women's soccer goalkeeper Kristin DePlatchett has been named to the 2001 Verizon Academic All-District III All-America Team. The senior goalkeeper and economics major holds a 3.87 grade point average.

DePlatchett appeared in 20 games for the 24-1 Tar Heels this season, starting 15 of those contests. DePlatchett led the team with a 0.40 goals against average this past season, surrendering only five goals on the year.

DePlatchett has been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll each year and has made the North Carolina Dean's list each of the past six semesters. The senior from Harborcreek, Pa. also serves as a Carolina Athletes Coming Together mentor.
