Jan. 7, 2008

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina junior midfielder Yael Averbuch has been named a first-team All-America by the Jewish Sports Review for 2007, the second straight year she has been so honored.

Averbuch helped lead UNC into the NCAA Tournament this year by scoring five goals, including five game-winning goals, and four assists for 14 points, ranking No. 3 in scoring on the Tar Heel team.

She started all 24 games. Averbuch for the second straight year was All-ACC and a consensus first-team All-America selection. She was Soccer Buzz's National Player of the Year in 2006.
