Tar Heels Get In Good Work In Fall Practice

Oct. 6, 2008

CHAPEL HILL - The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team played a series of three scrimmages last weekend in Durham, N.C., working to integrate a group of new freshmen and sophomores who didn't play much on the field in 2008 into a strong returning core.

The Tar Heels played Ohio State, Duke and Virginia Tech in exhibition scrimmages. Statistics and scores were not recorded during the games, but Levy is pleased with the progress her team is making this fall.

"It was great this weekend," Levy said on Monday. "We played Ohio State, Duke and Virginia Tech, all of which were good tests for us. It was our first time out with this team and we were trying to get sophomores who didn't play much last year and our freshmen into the mix. It was good to try to break those guys in. This fall we've been focused each weekend on getting better, just putting the fundamentals out on the field and trying to come together as a unit."
