CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - Highlighting the 2008 All-ACC Women's Lacrosse Team is 2007 Conference Player of the Year Dana Dobbie of Maryland and 2007 ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player Kendall McBrearty of Virginia. The 19-member squad, which was announced Thursday evening, is determined by a vote of the league's six head coaches.

The team features four players from the University of North Carolina, including two-time honoree Amber Falcone, a junior defender. Other Tar Heels on the All-ACC squad include senior midfielder Erica LaGrow, senior midfielder/defender Meg Freshwater and attacker Corey Donohoe, the only freshman on the team.

Maryland, which earned the top seed in this weekend's ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship, placed a league-high five representatives to the 2008 squad, which is determined by a vote of the league's six head coaches, while Duke, North Carolina and Virginia added four each to the roster.

Individual awards, such as Player and Coach of the Year, will be voted by the league's head coaches following the last regular season game and announced by the league office in May.
