CHAPEL HILL -The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team will venture away from the friendly grass of Fetzer Field in the 2008 season when it takes a two-game, spring break road trip this week. The Tar Heels, ranked No. 7 in this week's Inside Lacrosse media poll, will fly cross-country to face No. 18 Oregon (6-1) on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. The Ducks are coached by former UNC assistant coach Jen Larsen, who served under UNC head coach Jenny Levy. Following Tuesday night's game, the Tar Heels will open Atlantic Coast Conference play for 2008 with a Saturday afternoon date at Virginia (4-1), which is tied for No. 2 with Maryland in the Inside Lacrosse poll behind three-time defending NCAA champion Northwestern. Carolina is 5-1 this season after last Saturday's 12-5 victory over then No. 11 Vanderbilt. The Commodores have since moved up to No. 10 in the Inside Lacrosse poll. Freshman Corey Donohoe, who scored three second-half goals to lead the rally to victory over Vanderbilt last weekend, leads the Tar Heels with 17 goals and 19 points this season.
