UNC Women's Lacrosse Falls To Boston University
March 17, 2000 BALTIMORE, MD.--Twelfth-ranked Boston University used a balanced scoring attack featuring six different goal scorers to pull off a 7-4 women's lacrosse upset over fifth-ranked North Carolina Friday night at Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University. The Terriers improved to 2-0 on the season while the Tar Heels fell to 4-2 on the campaign and saw a four-match winning streak ended. The Tar Heels will be out to bounce back into the win column Sunday when it plays at 11th-ranked George Mason (3-0) at 1 p.m. BU was led by Kristin Abbruzzese who had two goals. Five other players scored for the Terriers while UNC had four different players with one goal. Burke Barett was a standout in the goal for BU as she made 10 saves. Boston University led 3-1 at halftime and then outscored the Tar Heels 4-3 in the second half in the first ever meeting between the two teams.
