Carolina Gymnastics Team Falls To No. 9 Minnnesota

Minneapolis, Minn.--The University of North Carolina fell to No. 9 Minnesota by a score of 195.725-194.275 Saturday night at the Sports Pavilion. Senior Monica Middleton captured second place in the all-around with a score of 38.925. Middleton scored a 9.650 to tie for fifth place on bars, a 9.750 to take seventh on beam and a 9.850 for sixth on floor. Sophomore Anna Wilson finished fourth in the all-around with a 38.400. Wilson finished fourth on bars (9.675) and floor (9.875). Freshman Olivia Trusty scored a 9.850 on vault to claim second place. Trusty also tied for fourth on floor with a 9.875. Fellow freshman Amy Williams scored a 9.750 on vault to place fifth. Minnesota native sophomore Natalie Halbach claimed second place on beam with a 9.900. The Tar Heels are back in action on March 15 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Harrisonburg, Va. to take on James Madison.
