Carolina Gymnastics Finishes Second at NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of North Carolina gymnastics team finished second with a score of 195.075. Host 28th ranked NC State finished first with a 196.150 and Air Force placed third with a 193.350. Senior Brooke Wilson claimed second in the all-around competition with a score of 39.225. Wilson tied for second on vault (9.875) and tied for fourth on parallel bars (9.825) as well as placing third on floor exercise (9.850). Junior Lisa Companioni continued to perform strong routines finishing fourth in the all-around with a 39.00. Companioni tied for second on vault with a 9.800 and tied for second on balance beam with a 9.850. Junior Monica Middleton placed third on parallel bars with a 9.875 while freshman Skylar Inman had her highest finish of the season on bars placing fourth with a 9.825. Sophomore Natalie Halbach placed fifth on balance beam with a score of 9.825. Sophomore Fritzie Cathcart and Freshman Maddy Curley tied for eight on bars with a 9.725 and both gymnasts tied for ninth on floor with 9.725. Cathcart and Middleton tied for sixth on beam with a 9.800. Carolina hosts William & Mary Friday, Feb. 23 in Carmichael Auditorium at 7 p.m.
