Carolina Gymnastics Finishes Fourth At Hearts Invite

RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of North Carolina gymnastics team finished fourth with a score of 193.025 at the Hearts Invitational hosted by NC State. No. 20 Iowa finished first with a score of 196.125, No. 23 Kent State second (195.550), host No. 28 NC State (195.150) and William & Mary fifth (190.700). Senior Brooke Wilson finished second on floor with a 9.900, eighth in vault (9.700) and bars (9.825) for an all-around score of 39.225 claiming third place. Junior Lisa Companioni scored a 9.725 in vault placing sixth and placing eighth in the all-around with a 38.725. Sophomore Natalie Halbach placed seventh on beam with a 9.850. Freshman Skylar Inman scored a season high 9.675 on parallel bars. Freshman Maddy Curley placed seventh on floor with a score of 9.825. Carolina heads back to Raleigh Saturday, Feb. 17 to compete against NC State, Air Force and Radford at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.
