CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Duke continued its dominance at the Franklin Street Trust Tar Heel Invitational after firing a second-round two-over-par 290 to widen its lead over second place Tennessee to 17 shots. The Blue Devils bettered their opening-round score by five shots, as they enter the final round with a nine-over-par 585. After shooting a 13-over-par 301, Tennessee finished with a two-day total of 602 (+26). Georgia is in third place with a two-day total of 610 (+34), while Wake Forest fell to fourth place with a team score of 614 (+38).

In individual competition, Jennifer Perri of Furman and Kalen Anderson of Duke are knotted at even-par 144. Perri followed her opening round 70 with a 74, while Anderson carded the lowest score of the tournament with a second round 69. Trailing by one shot, fellow Blue Devils Candy Hanneman and Leigh Anne Hardin are tied with Georgia's Laura Henderson after a two-day total of one-over-par 145.

For the Tar Heels, Ashley Prange followed her opening round 75 with a five-over-par 77, giving her a two day total of eight-over-par 152 and tying her for 20th place. Heather Angell fired a six-over-par 78 to give her a two day total of 11-over-par 155 leaving her tied for 27th place. Beth Lever is tied for 48th place after a finishing Saturday at 16-over-par 160, while Britta Olson finished with a two-day total of 17-over-par 161. Bettering her first round by six shots, North Carolina's Shelley McKevitt fired a six-over-par 78, giving her a total score of 18-over-par 162 and leaving her tied for 64th place. Abby Spector is tied for 71st place with a total score of 20-over-par 164, while Moira Murphey finished Saturday in 75th place with a score of 21-over-par 165. Murphey is playing individually, along with Lauren Quinn and Stacy Hilton. Quinn finished with a two-day total of 40-over par 184, and Hilton rounds out the Tar Heels with a total score of 41-over-par 185.

 

 

The final round with begin on Sunday with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. The tournament is being played at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, NC. Finley is a par-72 6,181 yard course. Admission is free and the public is welcomed to attend.
