UNC Women Golfers Place Sixth At Dodge Shootout

Destin, Fla. - The University of North Carolina Women's golf team finished sixth in the Dodge ACC/SEC Shootout, posting a team score of 307 in the third and final round. Tar Heel Sophomore Ashley Prange moved from tenth to seventh place after shooting a two-over par 73. Teammate Shelley Mckevitt moved from 13th and joined Prange in seventh place after firing a 72. Senior Beth Lever dropped from 18th to 25th after a final round of 81. Junior Abby Spector, who entered the day in 21st, shot an 81 and placed in a tie for 26th. Freshman Romi Irons finished with an 87 and placed 58th. The University of Florida led the tournament in team standings from start to finish shooting 294-304-294 for a three-round total of 892. Mississippi State, who entered the day tied with Wake Forest shot 295 as a team to take second. Wake Forest, South Carolina and Furman rounded out the top five. The 54 hole Dodge ACC/SEC Shootout was played at the par 71, 5,937-yard Raven Course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Eleven teams competed in the three-day event.
