Complete Results | Second Round Pairings

CLEMMONS, N.C. - Duke is 11 strokes ahead, leading the 2002 field after the first round in the 14th annual ACC Women's Golf Championship at Salem Glen golf course in Clemmons, N.C. The Blue Devils are off to a hot start with Virada Nirapathpongporn and Kristina Engstrom tied for first place shooting 70 and Candy Hannemann sits in second place with a 71 after the first day.

NC State finished in second place after the first round with a team score of 295. Malin Claesson leads the Wolfpack tied for fourth place shooting 72. Colby Cobb is in a two-way tie for eighth place with a 73 score. Wake Forest is two strokes behind NC State in third place (297). Nuria Clau leads the Deacs tied for fourth place with a 72 18-hole score. Deb Means is tied for 10th place (74).

Florida State is in fourth place (301) with Alison Zimmer and teammate Carrie Sordel leading the Seminoles in the four-way tie for fourth place, shooting a 72. Maryland shot a team score of 306 for fifth place with Katie Redeker shooting a 74 to lead the Terrapins. Rounding out the field is North Carolina in sixth place after the first day of action, shooting a 311. Tar Heel Ashley Prange is tied for 10th place to lead the Heels.

The second round of action will begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Salem Glen Country Club in Clemmons, N.C.
