UNC Tenth In South Carolina

Blythewood, S.C. - The University of Georgia's Angela Jerman and Summer Sirmons fired scores of 72 and 73, respectively, and the 11th ranked Bulldogs posted team total of seven-over-par 295 Friday to lead the Gamecock Classic at The University Club. Georgia has a four-stroke lead on top-ranked Duke with host South Carolina in sixth place 14 strokes off the pace after the first of three rounds on the 72, 5,996-yard course. The University of North Carolina finished the day in tenth place 29 strokes off the lead. UNC Junior Shelley McKevitt, Freshman Ashley Prange and Junior Beth Lever all finished tied for 28th place seven-over-par. Tarheel Junior Heather Angell completed the round 8-over-par 80 and tied for 34th while Junior Britta Olson followed at 13-over-par and tied for 50th. The Lady Gamecock Classic will continue through Saturday with the final round being played on Sunday March 18.
