CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina field hockey players Kelsey Keeran and Laura Douglas have earned All-America honors for 2003, as selected by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Keeran, a junior forward from Sunbury, Ohio, is the 25th UNC field hockey player to earn first-team All-America honors. Douglas, a junior midfielder from New Zealand, was named to the third team.

Keeran led UNC in scoring in 2003 with 43 points on 18 goals and seven assists. She earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference and All-South Region honors as the Tar Heels finished 16-6 and reached the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Douglas was Carolina's leader in assists with 21, a total that ranks ninth in program history for a single season. She added 10 goals for a total of 41 points, second on the team. In 2003, she earned All-ACC and All-South Region honors for the second consecutive year.

Keeran was one of six ACC players named to the 16-member first team. Joining her were Kelly Dostal, Kelly Doton and Katie Ridd from NCAA Champion Wake Forest, and Maryland's Paula Infante and Lauren Powley. The second team included two Duke players (Katie Grant and Gracie Sorbello) and one from Maryland (Jackie Cinconte). Other conference players on the third team were Virginia's Katie Joe Gerfen and Wake Forest's Lucy Shaw.
