CHAPEL?HILL, N.C. - North Carolina senior Brooke Miller has been named to the 2006 Division I Field Hockey All-America second team, announced Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). She is the 35th Tar Heel to earn All-America honors.

Miller served as a captain this season, her fourth as a regular in the starting lineup. An All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, she finished the year with a career-high 23 points (eight goals and seven assists), second on the team. In addition to All-ACC and All-South Region honors, she twice has earned the team's Marjorie Moses Schwab Unsung Hero Award. A communication studies major from Hummelstown, Pa., she has earned spots on the Dean's List and the ACC Academic Honor Roll during her UNC career.

Miller also was selected third-team All-America by Womensfieldhockey.com, which named Tar Heel freshmen Illse Davids and Riley Foster to its All-Rookie team. Both Davids and Foster started all 21 games this season and were named to the All-South Region second team.
