Tar Heels Win NCAA Field Hockey Title

College Park, Md. ---- North Carolina won its fifth NCAA field hockey national title and first since 1997 with a 3-0 victory over Penn State in the championship game. The Tar Heels got an early first-half goal from Katelyn Falgowski and added to their lead with goals from Rachel Dawson and Danielle Forword in the second period.

Carolina became just the fifth team in NCAA history to go undefeated, finishing the season 24-0 under head coach Karen Shelton.
