Kelsey Keeran scored a pair of game-winning goals as the Tar Heels won the 2004 ACC Field Hockey Tournament and is the Hardee's Carolina Student-Athlete of the Week for November 1-7, 2004. Keeran, a senior forward from Sunbury, Ohio, earned ACC Tournament MVP honors as the Tar Heels beat Maryland 3-1 Sunday to earn their 15th conference crown, their first since 1997. On Friday in the semifinals, her goal in the 81st minute of play gave UNC a 2-1 overtime win against Wake Forest, the No 4 seed in the tournament but the top-ranked team in the country. Against the Terrapins, Carolina trailed 1-0 at halftime and evened the score early in the second half before Keeran's goal with 28:33 to play in the game put the Tar Heels up for good. Keeran has a team-high 19 goals this season. With a current career total of 49, she is now tied for 10th place on UNC's all-time goals list.

Hall won the women's novice singles race on Sunday at the Head of the Chattahoochee regatta in Gainesville, Ga. In her first race in a single, her time of 24:19.7 was nearly a minute faster than her closest competitor.

MEN'S SOCCER
Corey Ashe

Ashe scored two second half goals to lead the Tar Heels to a 4-1 win at Clemson Sunday. His first goal came in the 69th minute on an Andrew Rhea assist and he later added an unassisted goal in the 74th minute for the Tar Heels' first four-goal game of the season. Following his first career multi-goal game, Ashe now leads Carolina with eight goals on the season and is second on the team with 16 points.

MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
Ryan Matuszak

Rochester Hills, Mich.

Ryan Matuszak won the one-meter diving with a score of 292.40 as UNC fell to No. 7 Minnesota 239-127 but routed Virginia Tech 278.5-91.5 in the Tar Heels' Atlantic Coast Conference opener. Matuszak's score of 292.40 was just 4.7 points shy of his career high score in the event.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
Lindsey Marck

Lindsey Marck won both butterfly events, posting a career best time of 2:00.60 in the 200-yard butterfly, to lead Carolina to wins over Richmond 236-124 and No. 24 Virginia Tech 242-124. Marck also swam on four winning UNC relay teams (200 medley, 400 medley, 200 free, 400 free) in the double dual meet as she went six-for-six in her events.
