There will be opportunities to play with and be coached by champions.

The Carolina Field Hockey Camp is a demanding camp that emphasizes enjoying and appreciating the game. SUMMER CAMP STAFF

The head field hockey coach at the University of North Carolina since 1981, Karen Shelton has led UNC to national prominence in the form of six NCAA Championships, six NCAA runner-up finishes, 16 Atlantic Coast Conference titles and 27 winning seasons. Heading into her 30th campaign, she carries a career record of 482-133-9 and ranks fifth among NCAA coaches in career wins.

A member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame, Shelton was a three-time national player of the year at West Chester State and helped the U.S. team to a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Grant Fulton has been a Carolina assistant coach since 2005 and brings to the program a wealth of international experience as a coach and a player. Before coming to Chapel Hill, he coached in his native South Africa, serving as an assistant the men's and women's national teams. He also has coached in Canada and The Netherlands. Fulton represented his home country at the 1996 Olympics and appeared in a total of 60 international matches with South Africa's National Team.

Rachel Dawson, a three-time All-America player at UNC, finished her Tar Heel career ranked among the school's top 10 in career points and career goals. The ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 and 2007, she was named ACC Tournament MVP as Carolina won the 2007 title. Dawson has been a member of the U.S. National Team since 2005 and played in the 2006 World Cup. During the competition, she was nominated for the WorldHockey Young Player of the Year Award, which is given to the world's best player under 23.

Jana Woolley spent nine years as an assistant coach at UNC and now is the head coach at Columbia University. A two-time All-America selection, she helped Carolina to NCAA crowns in 1995, '96 and '97. In the 1996 title game against Princeton, she earned a 3-0 shutout. Her goals-against average that season was 0.61, the best in the nation. Her 46 career shutouts still stand as a UNC and Atlantic Coast Conference record, and her 14 shutouts and goals-against average of 0.43 in 1994 both are tied for the school and ACC records.
