NORFOLK, Va. - The University of North Carolina won its sixth consecutive field hockey game Saturday, 3-2 against eighth-ranked Princeton at Old Dominion University's Foreman Field. The third-ranked Tar Heels, now 11-1 on the season, host Radford Sunday at 1 p.m at Francis E. Henry Stadium.

Carolina led 3-0 before Princeton got on the board. UNC senior Kristen McCann scored the only first-half goal, on a penalty corner with 4:40 to play before halftime. Junior Abbey Woolley provided the assist.

Less than five minutes into the second half, senior Holly Huff scored unassisted from the field to put UNC up 2-0. McCann then added another goal, her 15th of the season, to give Carolina a 3-0 lead.

Princeton mounted a comeback, scoring two goals within a two-minute span, but could not catch the Tar Heels. The Tigers did not manage a shot on goal or a penalty corner in the first half, but had seven shots and three corners in the second half. UNC took eight shots in each half. All five of the Tar Heels' penalty corners came in the first half.

The game was the first of three in a four-day span for UNC. After traveling home from Saturday's game, the Tar Heels will host Radford Sunday and hit the road again Tuesday to play Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.
