GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina rowers Lisy McIntee and Adriann Spinks have been named to the inaugural All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Rowing Team, as announced Thursday by ACC commissioner John Swofford. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. McIntee, a sophomore from Bala Cynwyd, Pa., is majoring in peace, war and defense. She earned All-ACC honors this season and also was named a National Scholar Athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Spinks, a junior from Francisco, N.C., is an exercise and sport science major. She joined McIntee as a CRCA National Scholar Athlete. Both McIntee and Spinks raced in the varsity eight for UNC this season. A total of 34 student-athletes were named to the squad. McIntee is one of just eight who earned spots on both the All-ACC team and the All-ACC Academic team.
