Tar Heels Row For ACC Title

  • ACC Rowing Championship Central

    The Tar Heel rowing team will go after its first Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on Saturday in Clemson, S.C. Racing begins at 9 a.m. at Lake Hartwell.

    The varsity fours will race first, with the novice eights following at 9:20 a.m., the second varsity eights at 9:40 and the varsity eights at 10. An awards ceremony will follow the racing at 10:30 a.m.

    The Tar Heels are seeded sixth in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four and fourth in the novice eight.

    Virginia, the winner of all seven ACC titles contested in rowing, is seeded first in each event.

    Probable lineups for the UNC boats are as follows:

    Varsity 8
    Shannon Wilson (coxswain), Lisy McIntee, Maegan Wareham, Adriann Spinks, Megan McMullin, Mary Sasson, Christin Cotten, Megan Mitzel, Ruby Woodside

    Second Varsity 8
    Emily Zepeda (coxswain), Chandler Sours, Liz Gardiner, Emily Williams, Maeghan Sill, Priscilla Poor, Katie Wood, Kathryn Winz, Eugenia Delbono

    Novice 8
    Paige Wall (coxswain), Kallie Knop, Leigh Habegger, Cara Van Dorn, Kendra Radkowski, Kasey Munson, Andi Drabot, Molly Tesch, Diane Reynolds
