Regatta Site: Seaforth State Recreation Area is located on the western shore of Jordan Lake, immediately south of NC 64. The site features a sandy beach, picnic sites, and comfort facilities. Admission to the park is $4.00 per car, $10 per van or bus. There is no additional charge for entry to the regatta. The park is open from 8 AM to 8 PM. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the park. Pets must remain on leash at all times and are prohibited on the beach.

Regatta Course: The 2,000-meter course will be clearly marked with large orange buoys. It will run south to north in front of the park area. In the event of a strong north wind the regatta director may change the direction of racing to a north-south pattern. In the event of extremely strong winds or rough water the course may be moved to the west side of the Seaforth peninsula into the Parker's Creek section of the lake; there is no spectator access to this alternate course. Any decision to change the course will be made with primary consideration for the safety of the competitors and fairness of competition.

Regatta History: This is the first-ever home meet for the Carolina rowing team, in its second year of varsity status. It is the first-ever full team meeting versus Duke and Clemson, both in their first year of varsity status. Carolina and Tennessee raced several times in 1998, with Carolina varsity boats placing above Tennessee in the Lexus Cup, Southern Championships, and Lexus Central Sprints. Carolina is coached by second-year head coach Joel Furtek. First-year head coaches Robyn Horner, Susie Lueck, and Lisa Glenn lead Duke, Clemson, and Tennessee, respectively.
