After 46 hours and 2,578 miles, The Tar Heel Express -- piloted by UNC rowing coach Joel Furtek and Kendall Atterbury -- arrived in San Diego early Thursday morning.

The following are pictures from their journey out to the San Diego Crew Classic, complete with brilliant sunrises and sunsets, a dense fog in Texas, the small Texas tunnel that made refueling rather interesting Wednesday afternoon and more.
