The North Carolina women's eight is ranked 17th in the latest USRowing National Collegiate Rowing Coaches' Poll, released on Wednesday. The Tar Heels, ranked 14th in the preseason poll, finished 10th in the Whittier Cup race at the San Diego Crew Classic over the weekend. Washington, the defending NCAA champion, ranks No. 1 in the poll and received all 19 first-place votes.

Carolina travels to Columbus, Ohio, this weekend to take on No. 14 Ohio State and No. 6 Michigan in the ACC-Big Ten Double Dual. Second-ranked Virginia also will compete in the event.
