TUESDAY, APRIL 3
9:45 a.m. ET - Joel Furtek and Kendall Atterbury depart University Lake in Chapel Hill.

10:30 a.m. ET - All is well after the first 30 miles on the road, as Joel and Kendall make a brief stop to check all the ropes and be sure the boats are secure and ready for the long haul.

3:30 p.m. ET - 347 miles down, the Tar Heel Express is just west of Knoxville around 3:30 p.m. Click here to listen to Joel Furtek's first audio update (you will need a Windows Media Player to listen).

6:10 p.m. ET - The Tar Heel Express has reached Nashville, Tenn., home of the Grand Ole Opry. Click here to listen to Joel Furtek's 510-mile update.

10:20 p.m. ET - The Tar Heel Express is just west of Memphis, Tenn., and into Arkansas heading toward Little Rock. Joel Furtek and Kendall Atterbury have traveled 743 miles and are experiencing some rain and lightening. Click here to listen to Joel's update.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4
1:18 a.m. ET - 928 miles down, and the Tar Heel Express is in Arkadelphia, Ark., but has just passed through some very severe weather. The truck and trailer are still in good shape however and they are 78 miles from Texas. Click here to listen to Joel's account of the treacherous weather.

4:19 a.m. ET - The Tar Heel Express is 1,107 miles into the cross-country trip and in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Click here to listen to Joel's latest report from the road.

11:08 a.m. ET - With 1,489 miles down, but many more to go, the Tar Heel Express is in Big Spring, Texas. It's overcast and hot in the Lone Star State, as Joel and Kendall roll along I-20. Click here to listen to Joel's progress.

4:32 p.m. ET - The The Tar Heel Express continues its trek through Texas. Joel and Kendall have completed 1,806 miles of their journey and are just outside of El Paso. Click here for the latest from Joel.

7:30 p.m. ET - Just past the Continental Divide and into New Mexico, the Tar Heel Express has an interesting time in its latest attempt to refuel. Listen to what Joel has to say in his latest audio update. Or if you have a QuickTime video, watch video of the tunnel experience.

THURSDAY, APRIL 5
3:29 a.m. ET - The Tar Heel Express is 40 miles east of Yuma, Ariz., and it won't be long before Joel and Kendall arrive in San Diego. Fresh off a nap, Joel's behind the wheel for the final stretch. His 2,360-mile audio report is now available.

5:37 a.m. ET - The Tar Heel Express has made its final pre-San Diego fuel stop at mile 2,486 of the trip. There's just 90 miles to go.

7:34 a.m. ET - After 46 hours and 2,578 miles, the Tar Heel Express has arrived in beautiful San Diego. Joel and Kendall are off for some much-needed sleep before the sun comes up. Before catching some rest, Joel checked in for one final audio report.
