Tar Heels Host Georgetown, Indiana Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina women's rowing team will play host for the only time this season when the Tar Heels take on Georgetown and Indiana Saturday morning at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh. Racing begins at 8:20 a.m. and will continue through approximately 10:30 a.m.

All three teams will field varsity and novice boats. The racing will launch from Lake Wheeler Park, located off Lake Wheeler Road.

Saturday's Race Schedule:
7 a.m.: Coxswains Meeting
8:20 a.m.: Novice four (Georgetown, Indiana, UNC)
8:40 a.m.: Varsity four (Georgetown, Georgetown lightweight, Indiana)
9 a.m.: Novice eight (Georgetown, Indiana, UNC)
9:20 a.m.: Second varsity eight (Indiana, UNC)
9:40 a.m.: Second novice eight (Georgetown, Georgetown lightweight, UNC)
10 a.m.: Varsity eight (Georgetown, Indiana, UNC)

Directions to Lake Wheeler (from Interstate 40 East)
Take exit 297 (Lake Wheeler Road) and go south. Stay on Lake Wheeler Road, passing across Tryon Road. You will eventually pass flashing yellow lights at Simpkins Road (which connects to Lake Wheeler Road on your left). Continue on Lake Wheeler Rd. The park entrance will be on the right side. Lake Wheeler Park is approximately 4 1/2 miles from Interstate 40. Make a right into the front entrance of the park and stay on the winding road to the waterfront.
