UNC Rowers To Open Spring Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The North Carolina rowing team will open the spring season Saturday by hosting Georgetown for a morning of racing at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh. The first race begins at 8:20 a.m. UNC will field a varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four, novice four and two novice eights for racing against the Hoyas. Up first is the varsity eights race at 8:20, followed by the novice eights at 8:35, the varsity fours at 9:10 and the novice fours at 9:25. Directions to Lake Wheeler Park:
Make a right into the front entrance of the park and stay on the long winding road to the waterfront. Lake Wheeler Park can only be accessed via Lake Wheeler Rd. Although there is a small bridge that passes over Lake Wheeler by Penny Rd., fishing and the launching of boats is not allowed at that location.
