Tar Heels Wrap Up Season At South/Central Sprints

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The North Carolina rowing team wrapped up its season Sunday with racing at the South/Central Sprints on Melton Hill Lake. UNC finished 19th in the overall standings and ninth in the South Region standings.

The UNC varsity eight won the D Final with a time of 7:06.30, ahead of Cincinnati (7:09.02) and SMU (7:09.42).

The second varsity eight raced in Final C, finishing fifth in a time of 7:13.56. Kansas State won the race in 7:04.10.

The novice eight was fifth in the B Final in a time of 7:21.16. Notre Dame won the race in 7:09.90.

The Tar Heels were fourth of four teams in the C Final for the open four, finishing in a time of 8:32.21.
