Her primary responsibilities include the training and development of the newest Tar Heels as well as recruiting the next Tar Heel talent. Fogt’s enthusiasm and passion for athletics is catching and she is thrilled to be working with the first year rowers. Fogt says, “Novices never cease to amaze me in their enthusiasm for a sport that is very new to many of them as well as the competitiveness they have with themselves and their teammates.”

Fogt is committed to taking her alma mater to a new competitive level while providing her athletes with an experience of a lifetime. Training and competing at the collegiate level can provide one with many lessons to be used in the classroom, on the water and more importantly, in the life they will lead after college.

Fogt believes in hard work, honesty, truth and perseverance. The right combination and balance of these will lead to success, where success is defined by the goals set by the individual and/or her teammates. With responsibilities for the novice program and recruiting, Fogt has a direct impact with the development of a competitive Tar Heel program.

A graduate of UNC (‘01), Fogt received her degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in public relations. Fogt helped to bring the Tar Heels to a top 25 finish for the first time and is a two-time letter winner. In her senior year, Fogt earned MVP honors as well as being named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) All-South Region second team.

Fogt has a passion for rowing and competition and looks forward to teaching the novices about this incredible sport. Fogt says, “I am honored to still be a part of the of the Carolina family and feel very lucky to be around such amazingly talented people.”
