CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina (8-0) returns to the court after its biggest win of the season Wednesday when the Tar Heels take on Wofford (5-2) at 7 p.m. at Carmichael Auditorium. Carolina has won eight straight to open the season for the second year in a row and the seventh time in school history after defeating No. 4 Tennessee 70-57 Sunday night. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 2 in the nation in both polls for the fifth straight week. Wofford is 5-2 coming off a 77-51 win over Winthrop on Friday. Wednesday's game marks the third of five straight home games between Nov. 30 and Dec. 16.

WOFFORD SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 3-0 all-time against Wofford.
• Carolina and Wofford had never played prior to the 2003-04 season, but the two teams have faced off in Chapel Hill each of the last three years.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
• Wofford is coached by Edgar Farmer Jr., a 1994 UNC graduate. Farmer served as the video coordinator for the 1994 NCAA championship team.
• Former Carolina men's basketball player Ed Geth is an assistant coach for the Terriers.
• The Terriers are led in scoring by junior Kelsi Koenig, who is averaging 14.6 ppg.
• Liz Miller scored a career-high 20 pionts to lead Wofford to a 77-51 win over Winthrop on Friday.
• Wofford is the third of four Southern Conference opponents for UNC this season. The Tar Heels have already defeated Elon and UNC Greensboro and will welcome Western Carolina on Dec. 10.
